The Glenn Maxwell-led squad finished fifth and was eliminated from contention for the knockout rounds while Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by nine wickets and advanced to the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs in second place. With Shardul Thakur taking 3/19 from his four overs, RPS decided to field and bowled out KXIP for 73, their lowest score in IPL history. The RPS batters needed 12 overs to secure the victory and go to the knockout rounds.

KTK recorded the 9th lowest score ever against Deccan Charges by scoring 74 in 16.3 overs. The match was played on the grounds of Kochi, and KTK chose to ball first. The fierce batting by Deccan charges made run chase a bit difficult for the Kochi Tuskers. With a score of 129, which is not at all easy to chase, KTK lost the game and recorded the ninth-lowest score on the list.

CSK was bowled out at 15.2 overs scoring just 79 runs against Mumbai Indians. 5 times IPL champion, CSK made it quite a bit easy for the MI to chase runs. With six fours and 1 six, CSK was able to reach a score of 79. The match was played at Wankhede stadium, where the crowd witnessed an overall run rate of 5.5.
